Ok , time to celebrate! This marks the 100 th post on LehmanVolvo.blogspot.com, and it comes close to the end of what turned out to be a very active year. Volvo has announced plans to produce a plug-in hybrid vehicle in 2012, and will show a prototype ALL-Electric C30 at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Nine months at sea can be a challenge for most people, but a nine month boat race at sea is definitely “life at the extreme”. Everyone knows what the Volvo Iron Mark logo looks like, but not all understand the meaning behind it. Some confuse it for the male symbol...nope. It is actually, as the title implies, the symbol for Iron. Since iron and steel are looked upon as strong, it is fitting that Volvo used the iron mark. My first 2 Volvos both had manual transmissions...and for good reason. They are just fun! Sure, the geartronic transmission is very good, but there is a small percentage of the US population that just have to have a stick...myself included. The C30 hatchback and C70 convertible have always been available with a nice 6 speed manual, but for 2010 Volvo has added that option on both the S40 sedan and V50 Sportswagon. The S40 manual is available in front-wheel-drive 2.4i trim as well as T5 R-Design AWD. The V50 manual is available in the T5 R-Design AWD.
