A Show-Winner: Lehman Volvo Employees Love their Volvos
What you are looking at is a stunning restored and modified 1984 Volvo 242 Turbo. This Volvo belongs to Lehman Volvo Technician Shane Feeser....and it's a winner. literally.
This month Shane's 242 won "Best Swedish Car" at the annual Carlisle Import Car Show. That's not a small feat considering Swedish vehicles have the largest turnout at the Carlisle show. In fact, there were over 350 on display (Volvos and Saabs), so winning best of that group is a challenge. There are always a lot of stunning machines on display, but Shane's hard work has paid off.
He bought his 240 in 2006 and has been perfecting it ever since. When he bought it the car was closer to being sent to the scrapyard than it was in any winner's circle.
He replaced a lot of worn out parts, installed a newer turbo-charged engine, replaced the interior, added European spec headlights, coilover suspension, Polaris 17 inch wheels, Group A racing wing, 240 Group A flathood and re-painted the vehicle. There was a lot more work, so that's just the tip of the iceberg. He also replaced the front end with newer body panels, updated the fuel injection and even created a custom exhaust.
Shane is no stranger to classic Volvos...he currently owns a total of 4 Volvos, some of which could be future show winners. Congrats to Shane!
