The 4,542 Mile New Car


 

Pictured above are the Andersons, who just took delivery of their new 2014 Volvo S60 T5 all-wheel-drive. And all four wheels drove 4,542 miles before they took delivery of their new car at Lehman Volvo. The Andersons took advantage of Volvo’s Overseas Delivery program through Lehman Volvo.

If you aren’t familiar with the program, Volvo Overseas Delivery gives you a chance to order your Volvo from us and fly to Sweden to pick it up directly from the factory. The roundtrip airfare comes at no charge and you get some very cool VIP perks along the way. Another benefit of the program is the opportunity to drive your new Volvo in Europe before it gets shipped to our dealership for final delivery. Volvo will cover 14 days of European registration and insurance. The red tourist license plates are yours to keep! With that in mind, the Andersons made the most out of the opportunity!

After picking up their car in Gothenburg, Sweden, they traveled to Stockholm, then to Malmo, then on to Copenhagen, Denmark. From there they travelled to multiple cities in Germany and France.  In total, nearly 4,600 miles were completed.  This is certainly a record for a Lehman Volvo customer, and one of the most well-travelled Overseas Delivery cars Volvo has seen as well.

Here is your Volvo Safety...

What you see above is the result of an accident between a tractor trailer, a Volvo XC60...and another tractor trailer. If you think the end result is devastating, just be aware...the driver and passenger of the Volvo XC60 walked away from this accident with only minor injuries. This accident happened in Brussels a couple of days ago, here is some of the report from their newspaper: A car containing a mother and daughter crashed into the back of a truck. The vehicle disappeared completely under the rear end of the heavy truck. To make matters worse, a heavy truck crashed into the Volvo XC60 from behind. The result was a lot of scrap. The emergency services had to rescue the two women from the car, who were trapped for more than one hour. The fire brigade had to cut off the roof of the vehicle before being able to set them free.
