Official Volvo Cars' Press Release
ROCKLEIGH, NJ (February 8, 2018) – The all-new Volvo XC60 luxury SUV is the Chicago News 2018 SUV/Crossover of the Year. Editors presented the trophy to Volvo at the Chicago Auto Show today.
The award comes on the heels of the XC60 being named 2018 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year™ and Detroit Free Press Utility of the Year, besting a long list of other new models from European, Asian, and domestic carmakers for both accolades.
"Our award for the SUV/Crossover of the Year goes to the sophisticated XC60, the muscular T8 hybrid,” said Jason Saini, pro race car driver and Chicago News automotive writer and host. “As the rest of the new Volvo line-up, it boasts a lot of safety features, including radar cruise control and autopilot semi-autonomous capabilities. It’s a hint of what driving will be like in the future, and a key component to Volvo’s safety commitment.”
Anders Gustafsson, President and CEO, Volvo Car USA, said, “As our most popular model it’s so important that the XC60 continues to get recognition from even local media like Chicago News. We hope others will appreciate the safety, technology, design and value the XC60 delivers.”
