Volvo Creates Air-Purifying Technology to protect Passengers from Allergens 

    In Pennsylvania, we experience a lot of pollen and other common allergens in the air due to the nature of our state. Each year, millions of people experience reactions from air-born allergens, including myself! Yes, there are many ways we can fight allergies, including air purifying technology that can prove helpful in your home, but what about your vehicle? Some of us are on the road more than we are home, and clean, pure air is nessicary when fighting allergies. Always a step ahead, Volvo has considered this issue for quite some time now, and used it as an opportunity to create air purifying technology within their vehicles. 

    Not only has Volvo worked hard to protect the environment, they considered the elements in the environment as well, and how they may negatively effect their customers. Volvo has always cared about the safety of their customers no matter what the scenario may be. Their mission with this project is to "help reduce the adverse health effects associated with air pollution, allergens, and fine partials that can effect our customers."

    Volvo's advanced Air Cleaner, available for new 60 and 90 series models, has been certified by the Allergy Standards Limited (ASL) as "asthma and allergy friendly, removing up to 99.9% of grass, tree, and weed pollen allergens from incoming air." Volvo's center display will notify you with live data informing you about the outdoor and indoor pollen and air quality levels. This helps users compare the levels to make sure the quality within the vehicle is sufficient. Customers will also have the option to purify the air in the cabin before they start their journey. This in-house developed app makes Volvo Cars the first car maker to provide live data of outdoor pollen levels to drivers.

    “By regularly testing and evolving the air purification features in our cars, we can stand out from our competitors as a manufacturer that offers a more comfortable and healthier driving experience.” 

    The Air Purifying Technology can remove more than 97% of airborne viruses trying to enter the vehicle, and 95% of the viruses already in the vehicle. The viral filtration efficiency of its filter makes the technology highly effective against airborne viruses.

    Volvo continues in innovate their technology to best suite their customers needs. Always staying one step ahead, Volvo truly is a wonderful example of a brand that truly cares about its consumers. We cant wait to see what Volvo will do next!

Here is your Volvo Safety...

What you see above is the result of an accident between a tractor trailer, a Volvo XC60...and another tractor trailer. If you think the end result is devastating, just be aware...the driver and passenger of the Volvo XC60 walked away from this accident with only minor injuries. This accident happened in Brussels a couple of days ago, here is some of the report from their newspaper: A car containing a mother and daughter crashed into the back of a truck. The vehicle disappeared completely under the rear end of the heavy truck. To make matters worse, a heavy truck crashed into the Volvo XC60 from behind. The result was a lot of scrap. The emergency services had to rescue the two women from the car, who were trapped for more than one hour. The fire brigade had to cut off the roof of the vehicle before being able to set them free.
