Volvo VS. VW...Convertibles!

Image
In another installment of Volvo VS... "The Value of Volvo Certified Pre-Owned", let's look at convertibles. This time we will compare the premium Volvo C70 Hardtop Convertible vs. The mainstream Volkswagen Eos Hardtop convertible. A VW is typically an affordable car, however, when we compare the CPO Volvo C70 against a new Eos, then you start to scratch your head on why it makes sense to choose the EOS. To start, both vehicles feature a hard-top and seating for 4 (though the C70 is a little more generous in that regard). The Volvo features a Factory-backed 6 year/100,000 mile warranty from the original in service date, while the VW features 5 year/60,000 (powertrain only. Comprehensive is 3 years), compared with leather seating and premium wheels and sound, the Certified Pre-Owned C70 comes in around $33,000, while a new Eos will set you back $37,500. Advantage...the premium Volvo C70 Hardtop. Find yours in Mechanisburg or York.

A Rare car...and it could be yours.

Lehman Volvo York has been serving the Central Pennsylvania area for over 50 years, so occasionally we have a rare car in stock...and this one is from the dealership's owner. This 1998 Volvo C70 Coupe (1 owner), is complete in Saffron Metallic with charcoal leather interior AND it is as good as it looks in these pictures. A limited car to begin with, this example has less than 65,000 miles and features popular options, including 18 inch BBS-Style Volvo alloy wheels, Climate Package, automatic transmission and Premium sound system. Cars like this with low miles are very far and few in between, and this car is being offered for sale at Lehman Volvo in York at $9,950 (complete with a 90 day warranty.) Safe+Secure Coverage...savings you see during ownership

Image
Car purchase incentives have always been a part of the auto industry. Sometimes the focus is money off of the MSRP, low financing or ownership loyalty incentives. Volvo's Safe +Secure Coverage is an incentive that you don't see up front, but it is one you will feel over the first 5 years (or 60,000 miles) of owning your new Volvo. There is a lot that is included in this coverage, but simply put...you pay nothing to repair or maintain your new Volvo for 5 years (excluding tires). You won't pay a dime for wiper blade, brake pad or brake rotor replacement. Factory Scheduled Maintenance is also $0. In addition you won't pay for repairs, as the warranty is also part of the 5 year coverage plan...as is Volvo Roadside Assistance. In reality, the SAFE+SECURE coverage plan will save you thousands of dollars, and it will give you one less thing to worry about...which is why you purchase a new car in the first place. Sporty Volvos: A History

Image
When the 2011 Volvo S60 T6 hits the road in a few months, it is said by Volvo to be "the most Dynamic driving Volvo of all time". Not too many people(outside of Volvo enthusiasts) know it, but there have been quite a few Sporty Volvos through-out the years...and those that have owned these cars understand that Volvos can be very fun to drive. 1961 Volvo P1800: Volvo's first sports coupe, the P1800 was more tuned to styling, but it was also a step in a sporty direction. The P1800 ended production in 1973 with a 2 door wagon variant called the P1800ES 1979 Volvo 242 GT: A sport trim level of the 240 series, the 242GT featured style and functionality. This vehicle would be replaced by the 240 Turbo in 1981, which featured more power and introduced a long period of high output turbo motors. 1983 Volvo 242 Turbo Group A: Also known as the "flathood" 240, this Super-amped up 240 was tied into Volvo's racing program, and the car featured flat -out performance. 1995

What's faster than a Porsche? A VOLVO

Image
Volvo is currently in first place in the SCCA World Challenge racing series…but the competition is fierce. Dodge Vipers and Porsche 911s are going head to head with the K-PAX Volvo S60s…and so far, Volvo is proving that they can compete with the world’s best. After 3 rounds, Volvo not only leads the Manufactures points (ahead of Porsche, Dodge Viper and Nissan GT-R), but also drivers points, with veteran racer Randy Pobst in first place and teammate Andy Pilgrim currently in 4th. The last race, held at Mosport was an important one for Pobst, as he stated: “The high point of today for me was my pole qualifying lap which was one of the best laps of my career. It was the perfect storm of a lap. The Volvo was prepared perfectly.…Kuno Wittmer's Viper gave us lots of pressure during the race but our Volvo was so fast, I was able to hold him off.” Get your street legal Volvo at Lehman Volvo in Mechanicsburg http://www.lehmanvolvo.com/ or Lehman Volvo in York http://www.lehmanvolvoyork.co
