Volvo Car USA donates XC40 Recharge to Boston Fire Department for Safety Training

     On May, 6 2022, Volvo Car USA provided the Boston Fire Department with a brand new XC40 Recharge  in order to educate first responders how to safely rescue occupants involved in an accident with a battery electric vehicle. Because pure electric vehicles require different extraction procedures, the XC40 Recharge will help the Fire Department develop new emergency strategies to ensure safety for all drivers.        As Volvo starts to put more all-electric vehicles on the road, it is important that  first responders safely work around the primary battery and high voltage wiring found in such vehicles.   Additionally , the XC Recharge is made with high strength steel, requiring first responders to use even more specialized extrication procedures.   Although t he components of an electric vehicle can have an impact on where first responders should cut into the vehicle, with proper training and  safety  guidelines, both occupants and first responders are ensured safety.      Made with c

Lehman Volvo Raises over $50,000 for Cancer Research

When Longtime Lehman Volvo Cars employee Jim Wilson was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, the employees of Lehman Volvo Cars saw an opportunity to honor Jim and help improve the lives of so many people in the Central Pennsylvania area. It was with that thought that the “Riding with Jim” cycling event was put together in March with the help of Blue Mountain Velo, a riding group that Jim belongs to. The event brought nearly 100 cyclists braving cold weather for a great cause. Its proceeds went to the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Research program at Penn State University Cancer Institute, a charity of Jim’s choice. “Jim is a man of great faith and devotion and he is fighting this like something I’ve never seen” states Lehman Volvo Cars Dealer Principal, Ray Bromley. Lehman Volvo also donated to the fund with each test in March and with every Volvo sold in March. When the donations were calculated, expectations were exceeded.
