What does it take to reach 1 million miles?

Let's say you bought a new Volvo 240 in 1986, like Selden Cooper did from Lehman Motors Volvo. Now let's say that unlike the majority of Americans you hold on to your trusty 240 for over 26 years...and in that time you drive nearly 1 million miles. How do you preserve your 240 to reach that very big milestone?

The key to automotive longevity is proper maintenance. So, in one million miles you will have gone through:

200 Oil Changes
50 Transmission fluid changes
33 Engine Air Filters
33 Sets of Spark Plugs
20 Timing Belts

And various sets of tires, wiper blades, brake pads, rotors, and bulbs. You might need a transmission service or two, but the beauty of Volvo engineering is that these cars are built to LAST...as long as you take car of your Volvo, it will take care of you. This is something Selden Cooper has experienced over the years, and he will realize mile number 1,000,000 very soon.

Help us celebrate Selden Cooper's 1 millionth mile this weekend at Lehman Volvo in Mechanicsburg
