Lehman Volvo Raises over $50,000 for Cancer Research

When Longtime Lehman Volvo Cars employee Jim Wilson was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, the employees of Lehman Volvo Cars saw an opportunity to honor Jim and help improve the lives of so many people in the Central Pennsylvania area.

It was with that thought that the “Riding with Jim” cycling event was put together in March with the help of Blue Mountain Velo, a riding group that Jim belongs to. The event brought nearly 100 cyclists braving cold weather for a great cause. Its proceeds went to the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Research program at Penn State University Cancer Institute, a charity of Jim’s choice. “Jim is a man of great faith and devotion and he is fighting this like something I’ve never seen” states Lehman Volvo Cars Dealer Principal, Ray Bromley. Lehman Volvo also donated to the fund with each test in March and with every Volvo sold in March.

When the donations were calculated, expectations were exceeded. Over $52,000 was raised for Cancer research from the generosity of the community, clients, and event participants.                          .
