How well do Volvo's hold their value? According to Rolling Magazine

In January, 2022, a 1986 Volvo 245 was sold for $36,500. A lot of people may ask, why that much for an older vehicle? With only 49,000 miles and recent service updates, the vehicle had relatively no rust, and ran like it was brand new!  Enthusiasts and customers alike will gladly tell you the price that the vehicle was auctioned for was more than reasonable for its value. Someone even claimed to Rolling Magazine that the vehicle "deserves all the love for being the best." But why?

Volvos have always held a high standard when it comes to the safety, durability and longevity of their vehicles. It is not uncommon you see an older Volvo on the road during your daily commute. Even in vintage ads, Volvo Cars have always been known to be passed down from generation to generation simply because they never gave way! "A car like this can easily last you a life time, if you take care of it", claims Rolling Magazine.

A great example comes from a couple who explains to Rolling Magazine that they have been driving their 1992 Volvo 240 Wagon since they purchased it in 1996. "The vehicle was never made for looks, but for reliability and durability", they claim. The vehicle has been driven every day since, with a total of 112,000 miles in 2022 and still running smoothly!

In August of 2021, a couple from Los Angeles fixed up their 1969 Volvo 164 and drove it 11,000 miles through Death Valley with ease. The vehicle had gone through some restorations before the trip, of course, but the couple never ran into any problems! With average temperatures of 100 degrees during August, and 200 degree ground temperatures, the 164 was able to tackle the terrain and not overheat despite not having an AC. Although, the refurbished cooling system managed to do its job and kept the vehicle from overheating. After the 7 week excursion, their Volvo was still in tip top shape, and they plan to drive it again soon on another road trip!

Since 1927, we have been fulfilling our goal to give customers the best quality in order to maintain safety, reliability, and what's best for our environment. The next time you see a Volvo on the road, remember, there is a good chance you will be seeing it for years to come.
