Over Half a Decade of Watching Your Blind Spot

Time flies when you're savings lives. In 2007, Volvo introduced a revolutionary safety feature called BLIS, which appropriately stands for Blind Spot Information System. The system warns you on either the left or right side (or both sides!) with a subtle amber light if an object is in your blind spot. Needless to say, this active safety feature has prevented countless accidents.

As traffic continues to increase it is very important to have an extra "set of eyes" looking out for you on the road. If only such technology was available on humans...

The next generation of BLIS technology is right around the corner, providing an even greater warning system for the Volvo driver who wants to ensure they don't end up too close to other vehicles on the road. As Volvo safety technology evolves it's hard to imagine what new and unique features will be available years from now.
